Mark Presnell
CEO
Our Chief Executive Officer, Mark Presnell, is of American and German descent and immigrated to New Zealand in 1993.
Mark holds the German equivalent of a Bachelor of Commerce and has lived and worked in several countries, giving him a truly global perspective on business issues and technology solutions.
Before coming to New Zealand, Mark spent nearly three years living in Cairo, Egypt, where he represented a large German manufacturer of technical products made from precious metals. After that, he lived in Miami, Florida for two and a half years where he worked for a distributor of computer hardware for the Commodore Amiga range of computers in a sales and account management role.
Back in Germany, he founded and subsequently sold a specialist software training business aimed at teaching Apple Computer dealers across the whole of Germany how to increase their revenue from professional services at a time when hardware margins were shrinking.
Once in NZ, he initially worked for a software business selling Executive Information System solutions complementing IBM’s AS/400 platform before joining Convergence as the third owner in the role of Commercial Director in 1998. Mark is now the majority owner of the business and revenue and profitability has increased significantly under his leadership.
Mark and his wife Sharon have four children. Their little West Highland White Terrier dog is the joy of their lives and provides endless hours of entertainment.
Mark is also a keen fisherman and loves to go out on the Hauraki Gulf in Auckland in his boat to catch Snapper! Fresh seafood is his favourite food of all!
