Convergence Limited and Ability Software cut the umbilical cord
Convergence Limited and Ability Software Ltd. have moved one step further apart, however, the two companies still work together with regards to AbilitySuite sales, development and support. Convergence commenced operations in 1997 as a specialist software development firm, largely in the Lotus Notes space. In 2003, Mark Presnell, CEO and majority shareholder of Convergence, felt the need to setup a separate company to protect and market the intellectual property of several Lotus Notes based software applications Convergence had developed. Ability Software Ltd. and it's AbilitySuite range of applications was born. In December 2009, Mark Presnell sold his stake in Ability Software Ltd. to Ross Mitchell, Chief Technology Officer of Ability Software. At the same time, Mark acquired Ross' share in Convergence, which now means that the two companies have been formally separated. Convergence continues to sell and support AbilitySuite software solutions in New Zealand and Australia. |
